We last saw Penny Hardaway’s Nike Zoom Rookie hybrid drop in the “Anthracite” colorway back in March. Since then, speculation has ran rampant about which colorways we’d see released throughout the remainder of the year. Some heavy-hitters have made the rumor mill, but new photos suggest that the once exclusive “Memphis Blues” colorway will make its way to retail in the coming months.
Exclusively debuted here at Sole Collector back in October, the “Memphis Blues” were originally made as a 1-of-1 for Penny Hardaway himself to wear at our Zoom Rookie Launch Event at Nike Las Vegas. With a tie-in to his hometown of Memphis, the shoe features a build of Foamposite and suede, the latter inspired by the original King of Memphis. A white and black 1CENT logo adorns the tongue, while a translucent outsole completes the look below.
No official release date has been set for these just yet, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as details become available. In the meantime, let us know what you think about the potential “Memphis Blues” release and what other colorways you’d like to see drop in the future.
